Hip & Co is a game developed together with the Utrecht University and the Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital. The aim of the game is to help chronically sick children to get out of their social isolation by stimulating them to play together with their healthy peers. The game functions as a tool to facilitate real world play. Up to four children can play together, the game gives them simple assignments such as; convince four nearby adults to wave to you or use your elbow to touch the elbow of the player next to you. Players work together to complete as many assignments as they can within a time limit.
The assignments have been designed in collaboration with field experts at the university and the hospital. The game has been tested with the target audience and deemed successful by all parties involved.
